Cow and Bury Downs are two sites situated close together. Both sites are on the ridgeway path above the village of West Ilsley and are blessed with an incredibly large car parking area. The footpath runs alongside the racehorse gallops across the top of the downs, with far reaching views north up the A34 towards Didcot, Abingdon. This site has proved particularly rich for overwintering Short Eared Owls over the past number of years.
